Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix is a Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from high school and signed an agreement with Adidas. In 2004 she enrolled in the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest to win the 200-meter race during the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record once again in 2007, beating her the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three of her races.
